Port Canaveral, FL (May 11, 2009) -- BoatBrevard.com’s WaterFest 2009 at Ski Island proved to be a huge success with beautiful weather, great fun, and a record number of attendees. This year’s event, organized by BoatBrevard.com, took place May 9th from 11am-4pm on Ski Island near the Barge Canal and Port Canaveral Locks. An estimated 500 boats were present; carrying over 1,500 people. It drew boaters of all sorts from all over Central Florida to celebrate the local boating lifestyle and kick-off the Brevard Marine Advisory Council’s First Annual Space Coast Boating Week and Waterfest. Boating Week and Waterfest promotes and highlights the recreational, economic, and ecological benefits of our shared waterways.

This gigantic boating event featured an island luau theme, live band / entertainment, a bar-b-que, drinks, children and adult island games, water volleyball, giveaways, prizes, and much more.

This year, organizations and companies supporting the BoatBrevard.com WaterFest included: the Brevard Marine Advisory Council, Keep Brevard Beautiful, Lifeline Marine Safety Services, Boaters Exchange, Chris Martin, Island Oasis Catering, MarineMax of Brevard, Juccess.com Internet Marketing, and the Citizens for Florida’s Waterways.
